CODE OF CONDUCT
ProductCamp Nashville is a volunteer-driven “unconference” focused on learning and sharing. Nashville’s tech community is growing rapidly in size and diversity, and we believe a code of conduct is a great way to ensure an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for all.
All attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers and volunteers at ProductCamp Nashville are required to conform to the code of conduct, which will be enforced by the organizers throughout the event.
THE SHORT VERSION
ProductCamp Nashville is dedicated to providing a harassment-free “unconference” experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of “unconference” participants in any form.
All communication should be appropriate for a diverse, professional audience including people of many different backgrounds. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event venue, including presentations.
Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other attendees. Behave professionally. Remember that harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not appropriate for ProductCamp Nashville.
Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the “unconference” at the sole discretion of the “unconference” organizers.

THE LONG VERSION
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race and religion, as well as sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of presentations or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Sponsors and exhibitors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities or other material. Sponsors and staff, including volunteers, should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.
Be careful in the words that you choose. Remember that sexist, racist, and other exclusionary jokes can be offensive to those around you. Excessive swearing and offensive jokes are not appropriate for ProductCamp Nashville.
If a participant engages in behavior that violates this code of conduct, the “unconference” organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff. Conference staff will be wearing ProductCamp Nashville shirts. You may also contact venue staff and ask to be put in touch with the Planning Committee Chair Chris Boyd, Speaker Butler Bob Batchler, Production Coordinator Joelle Key or Volunteer Coordinator Jacob Wiser.
